Year 6 School Camp

Welcome to Bayswater School
Supported by our vibrant family and community core, our 180 student, decile 9, year 1-6 primary school has a dynamic approach to growing its teaching and learning strenghts.

Learning Pathways
Learning Pathways, Bayswater's method of curriculum delivery, focuses on authentic, hands-on learning designed by and with our creative pupils. We have been proactive and innovative in the interpretation of the revised New Zealand Curriculum.

The result is a rigorous and exciting learning programme where students confidently share in discussing their learning, what they can do, what they need to do next and how they will progress to the next level.

We enjoy the support of many community groups
In this we enjoy the support of many community groups; Bayswater Community Committee, North Shore City Council, Sir Peter Blake Trust, Tindall Foundation (Sir Peter Blake and Stephen Tindall were both past pupils at Bayswater School), The Auckland Regional Council, Engineers in Schools, local artists and specialist staff from both Belmont Intermediate and Takapuna Grammar. While all students experience success through this form of individualised learning, it has proved especially relevant for boys.

Highly qualified staff
To retain and recruit Bayswater School's highly qualified staff, and to ensure we focus on relevant educational developments, participate in research programmes with universities, having recently been involved with Wellington, Auckland and AUT university projects on successful home/school partnerships the new curriculum and television viewing in the home respectively.
