Daniella's Story
Philippines

My name is Daniella Louise S. IsLa. I am 5 years old. My teachers are Mrs. Edwards, Mrs. Sheratt, and Mrs. Couldry. I am in Rooms 7 & 8. I come from the Philippines, and I came to New Zealand in 2010. I have been in New Zealand for more than a year. I speak a little Tagalog, our own language, but mostly English.

I came here because my dad wanted to come here. My daddy used to be a chef. Now, he is working back in sales, the job he used to do in the Philippines. I spend time with my mom and my sister in the weekends. We play cooking, camping, jumping, exercising, baking, and doing arts. I like going to the city, and to the markets. Also, I like going to the parks. Philippines is a great place. When it's sunny, it's sunny. When it's raining, it's just raining. I like biking in Philippines. It is super hot, but it's fun! I used to play in the streets with our neighbours. When there is a car, we just go to the side of the street.

In the Philippines, you can find lots of vendors selling fish balls, ice creams, pop corns, and other street foods. The famous public transport in our country is the jeepney and tricycle. Our beaches are fantastic. We have white sand beaches with clear waters. I love the Philippines!!
