Students from Room 5 participated in
a variety of activities in Term 2.
Their many achievements and
successes deserve praise. Here are a
few.
As part of the Enviro Group, Thomas,
Jack Adams, Kobe and Amelia Price
participated in the School Gen
workshop with Maggie Twaddle. They
extended their knowledge on how the
solar panels convert solar energy
into electricity, and learned about
renewable energy sources. These
experts shared their learning with
Room 5 and our buddy class, Room 1.
The culmination of one and half
term's work on Trash 2 Fashion took
place on the 18 June. Our creative
designers completed their amazing
outfits and strutted their stuff in
the semi finals at Peninsular
School. These ladies entered the
organic and fantasy sections under
the theme, Aroha Auckland. They
managed to wow the judges and we
can't wait to hear the announcements
of who is in the finals in July.
Well done girls!
The Bayswater School cross country
took place in week 7 after weeks of
fitness training to increase
personal stamina. Gracie, Georgia
and Mollie ran in first in their age
groups and we wish them luck
representing Bayswater School at the
Peninsular cross country in week 9.
Room 5 students visited MOTAT to
consolidate learning on FORCES which
is our science focus for this term.
Not only were the children able to
engage in a practical session
building simple machines, but they
also got the opportunity to see
these in action in amazing exhibits.
The remainder of the term will be
exploring the force of magnetism.
We are looking forward to completing
individual science investigations
next term!
