Welcome to Room 6!
We are an awesome, fantastic, motivated
group of year 5 and 6 kids. Our
teacher is Miss Brick.
Because we are the leaders of the
school, we take on responsibilities
and set a positive example for the
younger students. We help out in the
office, do road patrol, run
assemblies and get involved with
enviro duties to ensure our school
maintains its GreenGold standard of
sustainability, as well as many
other leadership roles.
We started the year with a focus on
leadership in Learning Pathways, and
have had many inspiring guests in to
talk to us about their experience
being leaders. We have heard from
author Dr Mark Orams, Breakers coach
Judd Flavell and Breakers player Tom
Brady, as well as Mayor Len Brown.
In term two we have had a science focus
on force and movement, and enjoyed a
fun trip to MOTAT to explore simple
machines.
We do all sorts of other exciting
activities like Water Wise, Trash to
Fashion, and Kapa Haka.
We look forward to focusing on being
responsible leaders throughout 2011.
