Bayswater School

Haere Mai and Welcome to Bayswater School!

Bayswater School is a co-educational school for children in Years 1 to 6 (aged five to eleven years) situated in beautiful, spacious grounds on Auckland’s North Shore. We have approximately 250 children who learn in attractive, modern classrooms with great access to technology.  We have a dedicated staff of teachers, teacher aides and support staff, who pride themselves on their friendliness and approachability.

Bayswater School is a warm, friendly, family oriented school.  It is important to us that everyone at our school feels valued, safe and develops a real sense of belonging.  This applies equally if you are an international student staying for a few weeks or for a whole year!

It is our aim to launch each child on an exciting learning voyage, equipped with the dispositions and attitudes for success, working in partnership with parents and families.

As well as a strong focus on the basics of speaking, listening, reading, writing and mathematics, we organise our curriculum into ‘Learning Pathways’ in which children have the opportunity to explore topics in depth, pursue their own inquiries and communicate what they have learnt to a wider audience. These studies include science, technology, social sciences, the arts, health and physical education.

We focus on the development of resilience - helping children to be confident, empowered learners who are motivated, challenge themselves and have a strongly developed belief in their own capabilities, persevering and recovering quickly from setbacks.  All children are given a wide variety of opportunities to develop their leadership skills and follow their passions.  This may be through the arts, sports, academic pursuits, cultural activities, the enviro group, school council or the many leadership opportunities we offer.
